Nurture in Nature – Thanks to Devonport-Takapuna Local Board🌱 A gentle, playful way to connect with nature.
Join us for Nurture in Nature, a play-based, child-led, sensory experience designed to connect you and your tamariki/moko with the natural world. With a range of nature-based activities and invitations to play, this session is perfect for young children – and loved by all ages!
🎯 What’s On Offer:
A variety of sensory and nature play activities (changing depending on the park’s features)
Opportunities for tamariki to explore, create, and discover at their own pace
Activities that encourage kaitiakitanga – caring for our natural environment in fun, interactive ways
📅 Event Details:
🕘 9:00 am – 1:00 pm
All equipment and activities set up from 9:00 am
Come and go as your child needs – no pressure to stay the whole time
Enough activities available to keep tamariki engaged for the full session if you choose to stay
This is a smoke-free and alcohol-free event! and please remember to be kind and respectful.

This is a flexible, relaxed event designed to fit around your whānau’s rhythm.
👥 Who It’s For:
Aimed at whānau with tamariki aged 0–6, but all ages are welcome. This activity is also suitable for those with access needs, including limited mobility, intellectual disabilities, and sensory needs.

💡 What to Bring:
- Comfortable outdoor clothing & sun protection
- Water, snacks, and anything your tamariki may need
- A change of clothes for little ones who love messy play
