Saturday, July 11 from 12noon – 4pm

Come hang out, explore, and get a real feel for what training, practicing and performing here is all about — no pressure, just conversation.

✔This event is for artists who want more than quick fixes or surface-level results, who care deeply about training to be the best, and who are looking for a creative home that supports your success and long-term growth.
✔ Whether you are brand new and committed to building a strong acting foundation, or an experienced professional returning to class to deepen your craft, this is a chance to see if the work at our Studio aligns with your goals and objectives.
What’s happening?
✔ We’ll be talking about actor training, Meisner technique, ensemble work, rehearsal process, stage and film production, along with the philosophy that guides everything we do. We’ll also be sharing more about the Nuance Theatre Co., Studio Series Productions, Festivals and the work being created here.
✔ We will offer demonstrations and invite participation in exercises and examples of the type of Meisner-based training we trust and practice.
✔ You can tour our studio spaces, community areas, play library, Media Studio and The NuBox theatre.
✔ You will connect with some of the instructors and students, and have real conversations about what it means to stay engaged, curious, and challenged as an actor here in NYC and through varied stages of work.

John DeSotelle Studio is near the corner of 51st and 9th in Hell’s Kitchen – 754 Ninth Avenue, 3rd & 4th floors.
John DeSotelle is an actor, educator, and director of both stage and screen. John has been involved in the industry for more than 25 years. He is the Artistic Director of Nuance Theatre Co., an Acting Coach and the Founder and Master Teacher of the Meisner acting technique at his private training school in New York City.
John DeSotelle Studio is one of New York City's top professional, independent acting studios centered around serious training in the full Meisner technique.
The Studio also offers studio/theatre rentals to independent artists and professional instructors, and is home to the Loyd Williamson Little Theatre, The NuBox & Nuance Theatre Co.
