About the artist: Victoria Ulriksen (b. 2006) studies organ in her bachelor’s degree at the Norwegian Academy of Music with cantor and professor Kåre Nordstoga, and fortepiano and modern piano with professor emerita Liv Glaser. From 2024, she will also study organ in parallel on the HMT Leipzig with professor dr. Martin Schmeding. She regularly attends masterclasses in Europe, most commonly with Olivier Latry, Michel Bouvard, Leo van Doeselaar and Martin Schmeding.
Victoria made a name for herself early with appearances on Norway’s Got Talent (2019). She has received prizes in competitions both at home and abroad, including 1st prize in the final of the Youth Music Championship and the audience prize in the international Maria Hofer Orgelwettbewerb 2023.
Victoria gave her debut recital at age 15, and regularly gives solo recitals in Norway, where she is often heard in Nidaros Cathedral and Oslo Cathedral. She made her debut abroad in 2023 when she played concerts on Scandinavia’s only Cavaillé-Coll organ in Copenhagen and on a historic Serassi organ in Bergamo, Italy.
Her UK Tour 2024 consisted of recitals in Blackburn Cathedral, Truro Cathedral, St Olave’s Church York and Chesterfield Crooked Spire. She also played a summer recital in Fraumünster Zürich, and a spring recital in Uppsala Cathedral, which is the largest church in Scandinavia.
In the autumn of 2024 she will play recitals in Haderslev Cathedral, Parrocchia di Col di Cugnan in Italy, and again at the Cavaillé-Coll organ in The Jesus Church Copenhagen during the Nordic Church Music Festival.
She has played several concerts at a number of festivals such as the Oslo International Church Music Festival, Bergen International Organ Festival, and played at the International Organ Festival Haarlem on the famous organ in St. Bavo, Festival des Orgues Cavaillé-Coll Rouen, and 4 times at the opening of the Salzburg Festival. Next year, she will play a recital in Trieste Cathedral during the Settembre Musicale Festival. She has performed in 11 countries.
Next year’s UK Tour already includes cathedrals such as Southwark, Bradford, Blackburn and St Chad’s in Birmingham. She is also reinvited to Fraumünster Zürich in the summer of 2025.
