The 1970s and '80s rock band Labyrinth is celebrating their induction into the Iowa Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with a FREE Reunion Concert at the George Daily Auditorium in Oskaloosa! The concert will include an opening band and Labyrinth performing their original music and some covers of their favorite hits of the '70s and '80s.Tickets are free and general admission, but you can reserve your seat at www.georgedaily.org.
The band was formed in 1979 while many members attended Central College, including Chris Hopkins '82, Jeff Knight '84, Doug McCaulley '83, Matt Bell '81, Craig Jones '80, John Smalley '78, and Ralph Johnson '80. Band members who toured while they were making music full-time were Hopkins, Knight, McCaulley, Chris Scavo, Danny Cash, Brian Waterman, and Dave Jacobson.
Between 1979 and 1986, Labyrinth performed throughout the Midwest, the Great Plains, and west through Montana and Idaho, as well as Ontario, Canada. In 1985, they recorded a full-length LP, "So Wild," still available to stream on Bandcamp.
While the band was active, they performed with many national acts, including Foghat, Steppenwolf, Black Oak Arkansas, Guess Who, Ozark Mountain Daredevils, Head East, New Riders of the Purple Sage, Savoy Brown, Steele Breeze, Shooting Star, The Jesse Ventura Band, and King Kobra.
