Join us for FREE JAZZ SUNDAY in the Sunset Lounge on Sunday, September 7th featuring local singer Sarah Shae and Chez Jazz. Featured musicians include Sarah Shea (vocals), Al Harris (keyboard), Ted Enderle (upright bass), Tom Svornich (drums), Ed Dononue (flugel/trumpet), and Kevin MacCartney (congas).
General Admission seating is first come, first-served and not guaranteed throughout the event. Private premium tables are available by RSVP and $40 donation.
LIVE MUSIC in the Sunset Lounge from 12:00 to 1:30PM. Bloody Mary & Mimosa Bar available in the Sunset Lounge 11:00AM - 2:00PM. The Waterfront Coffee Bar will be open and offering food and drink from 8:00AM-3:00PM.
Free Jazz Sunday is a monthly event series at Field Hall and is made possible through the support of local donors; if you'd like to support this series, please consider a donation at checkout or during the event.
Sarah Shea is a jazz vocalist with a Master’s degree in Music from Columbia University, where she performed in New York’s vibrant jazz scene during the summer of 2023. A first-place winner at the Kobe Jazz Competition in Seattle, she was featured at the Kobe Jazz Festival in Japan this year. Known for her soulful performances, Sarah has headlined the Chelan Wine and Jazz Festival and held an international residency in Mexico. Her discography includes The Nearness of You (2011) and A Child Is Born (2017), showcasing her passion for jazz standards, bossa nova, and original compositions.
Al Harris (Piano) has produced a multitude of tracks for TV, radio and films. He was the director of the Port Angeles symphony’s Adventures in Music program for over 20 years, providing free live music for elementary schools. He also produces music practice tracks for singers and is a busy pianist on the Olympic Peninsula.
Ted Enderle (Upright Bass) is one of the Olympic Peninsula’s most prominent jazz bassists. He has performed on both coasts of the US with many musicians, including Larry McKenna, Chuck Anderson, Jacqueline Tabor, Hadley Caliman, Barney McClure, Mark Lewis, Woody Woodhouse, Randy Halberstadt, Darin Clendenin, Bill Anschell and Dmitri Matheny.
Ed Donohue (Trumpet/flugel horn) plays with many of the top jazz artists in the area. He’s a retired band director from Port Angeles and is known for his melodic solo improvisation.
Tom Svornich (Drums) has been a working drummer for 59 years and has played up and down the west coast from LA to Alaska and enjoys playing all styles of music, especially jazz.
Kevin MacCartney (congas/percussion) is a retired National Park Ranger who currently plays with several area bands. He is currently working on a project in collaboration with Field Hall and the National Park Service called “Wild Sounds, Songs, and Dance Collective for a Cause”.
