Drawing and Painting/ Plein Air Workshop for Kids -

This workshop is part of the On the Canals program, presented free of charge by Stony Point Art Studio, the NYS Canal Corporation, and the NY Power Authority

Inclusive Drawing & Painting / Plein Air Painting Workshop for Kids–

A 1.5-hour inclusive workshop for children will explore drawing and painting the local flora, fauna, and landscape surrounding the Erie Canal. A wonderful introduction to landscape painting in inspiring spaces for artists to tap into their creative side. We will use sketching techniques that lead to the use of oil pastels, watercolors, and/or colored pencils. Students will be taught how to use basic shapes and shading, as well as a simple lesson on perspective, to create original works of art depicting the nature surrounding the canal. Each student will complete a beautiful, original piece of art to be taken home after the workshop. All abilities are welcome.

We will be located at 114 N Main St - Stony Point Art Studio & Gallery. This space is accessible and offer free parking and no-step entries. We will be encouraging personal helpers, community habilitation, and service animals for support, as well as the request for ASL interpreters
