Free GCSE Maths Session: Expanding and Factorising (Years 9–11)
About this Event
Expanding and factorising comes up on every GCSE maths paper, and so much of the algebra that follows builds on it. If your child freezes at brackets, mixes up their signs or isn't sure where to start with a quadratic, this session is for them.
Two hours of teaching, completely free. One session, 1pm to 3pm.
What's included:
- Step-by-step teaching from the basics to exam-level questions
- A workbook to take home
- Exam questions, worked through the way examiners mark them
- A short check at the end, marked and sent to you with what your child needs to work on next
- A 10-minute talk for parents on how to help at home (2:50pm)
- Drinks and cake at the break
Suitable for Foundation and Higher, with extension questions for students aiming for grades 7 to 9. Pens and paper are provided.
Only 50 places. Final place confirmation is posted in our free Urmston GCSE Maths Hub WhatsApp group on Wednesday 4 November (you'll get the link when you book).
Run by Hassan, a qualified secondary maths teacher and the founder of Up Your Maths (upyourmaths.co.uk). Questions? WhatsApp 07840 292438.
