Gallery admission to the Modern is always free on Fridays, and the museum is open late until 8 pm! Explore the art and ideas of our time through the Modern’s permanent collection and special exhibitions. Complimentary docent tours are available at 2 pm, 4 pm, and 6 pm. There are also free specialty tours throughout the month:
• First Friday Spotlight Tour (every first Friday at 6:30 pm)
• Slow Art Tour (every third Friday at 5:30 pm)
• Spanish-language Tour (every fourth Friday at 6 pm)
When you visit, plan to stay for a critically acclaimed film in our auditorium or enjoy an elevated lunch or dinner at Café Modern.
On the first Friday of each month, join us for a special celebration, First Friday at the Modern! The Modern and Café Modern team up to bring you live music, drink specials, and tasty light bites for purchase in the museum's Grand Lobby from 5 to 8 pm. Enjoy a complimentary 20-minute docent-led tour at 6:30 pm.
