Duration: 45 mins including Q&A
This September, our Friday Art Talks become Art Walks. Join Gallery staff and special guests as they lead walking conversations of the National Collection, landscapes and stories across the Gallery’s indoor and outdoor spaces. Celebrating the arrival of spring and part of Floriade About Town 2026, Friday Art Walks invite you to experience art and nature together, discovering the collection one step at a time.
This Art Walk starts at Lindy Lee, Ouroboros, 2021–24. Located in the Australian Garden, at the corner of Parkes Place East and King Edward Terrace. For directions to the work of art, please see the Sculpture Garden Map. Ouroboros is marked as number 1.
How does landscape influence the way we experience art? Join Benjamin Taylor, Landscape Manager at the National Gallery, for a closer look at the thoughtful design of the Sculpture Garden, where landscape and works of art co-exist in conversation with one another.
Considerer how the Garden’s design responds to the changing seasons, from the shifting length of daylight to the changing paths of sunlight across the landscape. Learn how plants, colours and textures transform throughout the year as they are shaped by Canberra’s weather – creating a landscape that is always evolving.
