Join us for Free Family Sunday & an Old-Fashioned Ice Cream Social on August 2nd from 1-4 pm!
FREE FAMILY SUNDAY: We will be offering FREE tours of Ruthmere as part of our Free Family Sunday series. Take a walk through the historic home of Albert and Elizabeth Beardsley, built in 1910 and preserved with original furnishings and architecture. Tours will start approximately every 5-10 minutes and the last tour of the day will begin around 3:40. Free Family Sundays are sponsored by the Community Foundation of Elkhart County.
ICE CREAM SOCIAL: Ruthmere's popular Ice Cream Social event is back for 2026! Enjoy live barbershop music and, of course, delicious ice cream. Hang out on Ruthmere's porch or on our grounds and enjoy our musical guests, New Image, while you have your cooling treat. Ice cream with a variety of toppings will be offered. The 2026 Ice Cream Social is sponsored by 1st Source Bank.
Registration & reservations are NOT required to enjoy any of the day's activities. Guests do not need to start their tour experience at the Beardsley Discovery Center. Call (574) 264-0330 with any questions.

The first Sunday of each month April - November, either Ruthmere Museum or Havilah Beardsley House is open to the public for no admission charged between 1-4pm. Ruthmere is open in April, June, August and October. Havilah Beardsley House is open May, July, September and November. When one site is open for a Free Family Sunday, the other site is closed. The Havilah Beardsley House will be CLOSED Sunday, August 2nd.
