Hearts & Heroes: Celebrating 250 Years of America & Washington’s LegacyCelebrate history, creativity, and togetherness at this fun, family-friendly event! Heart-Filled History Fun brings George Washington’s birthday together with America’s 250th anniversary for a morning filled with hands-on activities, games, and crafts for all ages. Learn about Washington’s lasting legacy, make festive valentines, and explore the spirit of the 1700s in an engaging and approachable way. Join us as we celebrate the heart of our nation’s story—past and present!
Creative Activities For Kids:
-Fold and Decorate a Letterlocking Love Note (sometimes called a Puzzle Purse Valentine, folded like origami). They started being made in the Colonies by the early 1700’s.
-Create a Tricon Hat, like our Founding Fathers
-Cut and glue homemade Valentine’s Cards
Formerly known as our Free Family Event series, Boone Youth Explorers is our newly renamed monthly program designed to spark curiosity and connect kids with local history through hands-on experiences.
Boone Youth Explorers is generously supported by Missouri Humanities and Missouri Arts Council. Financial assistance for this program has been provided by the City of Columbia, Office of Cultural Affairs.
