We may not be a windmill or a water mill… but we are a mill, so we’re close enough and proudly jumping on the National Mills Weekend bandwagon!Join us on Saturday 9th May for free admission to Queen Street Mill. Visitors can enjoy free access to the historic cotton-weaving mill, including guided tours and live demonstrations of our original Lancashire looms, bringing the sights and sounds of Lancashire's Mills back to life. It’s a brilliant opportunity to explore the last remaining steam-powered weaving shed in the world, and Burnley’s industrial heritage.
While you're exploring, scan the QR codes placed around the mill to discover what life was like in a Victorian weaving mill. Each code unlocks a short video bringing the stories, people, and experiences of Lancashire's Mills to life. This video trail was written, directed, and acted by the Queen Street Mill Young Producers as part of the Hope Streets project, offering a fresh and creative insight into the people behind the looms.
After exploring the mill, you can browse our gift shop, stocked with plenty of mill themed souvenirs and unique gifts, or take a well earned break in our café- serving hot brews and delicious cakes.
