Ekphrastic Poetry Workshop with Author Elizabeth BeckSunday, September 21 | 3–5 PM | Free to Attend
Step into the 21c Museum Hotel Lexington galleries and let art spark your words. Join award-winning poet and author Elizabeth Beck for a free Ekphrastic Poetry Workshop, where our current exhibition, “Still, Life! Meaning and Meaning in Contemporary Art” becomes the inspiration for your own creative expression.
The afternoon will begin with an introduction to ekphrastic poetry, writing in response to art, along with examples to guide your approach. Participants will then explore the galleries to select a work that stirs their imagination. After an initial period of writing, Elizabeth and 21c’s Museum Manager, Ashley, will share background on the chosen artworks to deepen your connection and help shape your poems. The workshop will conclude with a group gathering where participants are invited to share their writing.
No registration required. Meet in the Main Gallery at 21c Museum Hotel Lexington.
