On Sunday, October 26, Texas Master Naturalist Erik Wolf will lead an edible and medicinal plant walk at Seabourne Creek Nature Park in Rosenberg. This is a chance to slow down on the trail and take a closer look at some of the useful plants that grow right here in our part of Texas.Along the way, Erik will point out plants like yaupon holly, which can be brewed into a naturally caffeinated tea, American beautyberry with its bright purple edible berries once used as a folk remedy to keep mosquitoes away, and goldenrod, a fall bloomer with a long history of medicinal use.
The walk is free, open to the public, and family-friendly. Meet in the main parking lot by the Archway. Bring comfortable shoes, your curiosity, and get ready to see the park in a new way.
Participants will be asked to sign a release form for educational purposes as this is not intended to serve as medical advice.
