LOCKING VOCAB & FREESTYLE LAB💥Kicking off 2026 with what some consider to be America's first street dance, a funky style pioneered by Don “Campbellock” Campbell in Los Angeles in the early 1970s, LOCKING or THE CAMPBELLOCK!

During the "Locking Vocab & Freestyle Lab” series, participants will learn Locking’s foundational moves and some signature steps in a fun & interactive format that will also strengthen their comfort & confidence when it comes to freestyling using Locking's vocabulary. Through opening videos and discussion, participants will also gain insights into the history of Locking and the people who created & have contributed to it.
This series is lead and instructed by A-A-Ron of BeanTown Lockers , an artist educator who is dedicated to the celebration & preservation of Locking. In recent years, A-A-Ron's been the Locking instructor for grassroots movements and large institutions alike right here at home all the way to Abu Dhabi to Rio de Janeiro and back.
🚗 Parking: Free street parking. Free off-street parking lot on Elm Street (see second slide). Please DO NOT park in the lot adjacent to the Jo-Me building, that is reserved for their staff)
