An acclaimed composer, arranger, educator, and former member of the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, he has performed with legends including Wynton Marsalis, Dizzy Gillespie, and Dianne Reeves. A longtime musical ambassador, Gordon is equally recognized for his original compositions, award-winning recordings, and commitment to jazz education. Jazzmobile commissioned his acclaimed score for Oscar Micheaux's Within Our Gates, reflecting his passion for preserving jazz history while bringing its vibrant spirit to audiences around the world.
