Free Concert of Chinese Music

The concert takes place just before Lunar New Year and offers an accessible introduction to Chinese traditional music in a historic York setting. This event is in partnership with East Asian Ensemble, Shared York CIC and Jorvik Media.

What to Expect

🎶 A 45–60 minute live music concert featuring traditional Chinese instruments.

🏛 An opportunity to experience Merchant Taylors’ Hall as a flexible community venue, used for cultural events, weddings and celebrations.

🌱 A reflection of the Guild of Merchant Taylors’ long-standing commitment to developing young people’s musical skills.

About the Merchant Taylors’ Hall

Merchant Taylors’ Hall is one of York’s most historic guild halls and continues to play an active role in city life today.
The Hall supports education, music and community engagement, and regularly opens its doors to residents through public events and open days.
