Engaging and fun program designed to help people with mild to moderate dementia stay mentally active, and improve their quality of life.
About this Event

Help your loved one stay mentally active, socially connected and meaningfully engaged through Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST) program.

CST is an effective program designed to help people with mild to moderate dementia stay mentally active and engaged, and improve their quality of life.

Research has shown that CST can improve cognition, confidence, communication and quality of life while providing enjoyable opportunities for social interaction.

Each session combines enjoyable cognitive activities, themed discussions, gentle physical and language warm-up activities, and meaningful conversations designed to stimulate different areas of the brain while encouraging friendship, confidence and social participation.

Sessions are delivered in a small, supportive group of only 4–6 participants, giving every participant the opportunity to actively participate and build meaningful connections.

All materials provided.

Before the Program:

To ensure the safety, wellbeing and suitability of each participant, the facilitator will contact the participant's care partner or care provider before confirming registration. This conversation helps us learn about each participant's interests, strengths, communication preference and support needs so we can create the best possible group experience.

After the Program:

Participants and their care partners will be invited to complete a short survey after the program. This helps us measure the benefits of the program and continually improve the quality.

This program is funded by CST Australia. Venue support is provided by the North Sydney Community Centre and North Sydney Council.
