FREE Christmas Coding Workshop| Ages 10-16 | Halton (HAF)

This fun-filled, festive session lets your young people explore the magic of coding with micro:bits! They’ll start by using Makecode to create their very own digital musical instrument, which will play a festive jingle with the press of a button.

But the fun doesn’t stop there! They’ll also learn how to code Christmas lights with micro:bits, turning ordinary lights into mesmerising displays that twinkle in vibrant patterns and colors. A perfect way to blend creativity and coding this holiday season!

No prior experience is required for any activity, and all equipment will be provided by us. Our friendly tutors will be there to support you every step of the way.

Who can get involved?

This workshop is for young people who match the following criteria:

• 10-16 year olds 
• A Halton resident
• Eligible for benefits-related free school meals

Places can be given to young people on EHC or Support Plans, but they are not guaranteed. Priority will be given to young people who are eligible for free school meals.

When is this workshop?

Monday 30th December, 10 am - 2 pm.

Where will the workshop take place?

Grangeway Community Centre, Grangeway, Runcorn, WA7 5HA 

How much does it cost?

This project is funded by Halton Borough Council and the Department for Education for young people from Halton who are eligible for free school meals, therefore it is free to attend. 

What equipment should I bring?

Digital Arts Box will bring all of the equipment needed to participate in this session.
