Camphor Church Hope Center is excited to announce our annual Back-to-School Community Day on Saturday, August 22, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM at 5620 Wyalusing Avenue, Philadelphia, PA. This event is open to the entire community and promises an afternoon filled with fun, food, and festivities. Over 475 families have preregistered.

Everything is FREE! We will provide free bookbags and books to children to ensure they are well prepared for the upcoming school year. In addition to the giveaways, the event will feature DJ Steve, pony rides by Hand2Hand Farms, a bounce house, the amazing stiltwalker, Sistah Mafalda with African drummers Brother Hakim and Friends, and face painting by Constantly Crafting Kay to entertain children and families. Enjoy free hot dogs, Philly Pretzels, and water ice!

Vendors and community representatives will be there to greet you! This year, we are proud to partner with the School District of Philadelphia, Mu Beta Phi, the National Police Fraternity, the Honorable Najee Grant. and the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference of the United Methodist Church, who have generously supported our efforts to make this event a success.
