About this Event

What is Bokashi Composting?

Bokashi is a Japanese method of fermenting food waste that transforms kitchen scraps into a probiotic-rich soil amendment. Using beneficial microbes, the process pre-digests food waste before it is added to the soil or compost. It's an easy way to get started with composting, and for experienced composters, it's a valuable technique to add to your composting toolbox.

Meet your Instructor:
Pablo is a fire alarm technician by day and a backyard gardener by night. A dedicated composter for over four years, he has diverted more than 2,000 pounds of food scraps from the landfill and has led 14+ Bokashi composting workshops, helping others turn waste into healthy soil.
