Join us on the water for a free boat ride on York Stream and see Maidenhead town centre from the waterway. Our volunteers will be taking groups of people for short tours of our restored waterway to see how the waterside area has been regenerated.
On the tour Friends of Maidenhead Waterways volunteers will explain how we led the restoration of York Stream from a dried out ditch to a restored waterway.
Boat rides depart from the Daisy the Alligator statue on quayside under Bombay Story restaurant at
The Colonnade, Waterside Quarter, Maidenhead SL6 1QG.
Tours begin at 0930 on Saturday 23rd May and will finish at 1200.
Our maintenance boat Yorkie is flat bottomed and stable. It holds up to six passengers. Life jackets will be provided for everyone. Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Be prepared to queue if it gets busy.
These tours are free, but if you wish to make a donation to our charity's work in maintaining the waterway, there will be the opportunity to do so.
Please note: we have public liability insurance for our boat rides, our boats are licences with the EA and our skippers are trained, but people take part at their own risk.
