What to Expect: "Free Bee — Words, Spoken Aloud" is a gently facilitated open mic shaped around attention and pace.Guests can expect short readings shared by poets, storytellers, first-time readers, and seasoned voices. Each reader is given a brief, intentional window to speak, with space between readings to allow for listening and reflection.
The evening opens with grounding, includes a midway pause to reset and refill, and closes gently. Guests are welcome to share or simply listen—both are considered full ways of participating.
Host Bio: Joy-Jayne Bassey is a poet, multidisciplinary artist and cultural facilitator, based in Maryland. Her work is rooted in story, scar, and the sacredness of human experience.
