FREE Basque Dance Workshop: Jautziak (Call Dances)

Join us for an evening of Basque music, dance, and community!
These free outdoor classes are inspired by the erromeria - a tradition of gathering to dance, laugh, meet new friends, and simply enjoy being together. No experience or partner is needed; just bring comfy shoes, a water bottle, and an open mind.
Classes are held every Thursday in June. Each week we'll learn traditional Basque dances to live music while sharing a bit of the history and culture behind them.
This week's focus: Continual Growth
Every time you step onto the dance floor it's a fresh opportunity to learn, to change, to grow. This week we'll learn the basic steps of the Basque "jautziak", or call dances, and practice them to dances like:
• Zazpi Jautzi
• Hegi
• Ainhoarrak...and more!
This is a welcoming, low-pressure environment where there is no "right" or "wrong" - just a chance to learn something new and connect with yourself, with the music, and with the people around you.
After class we encourage everyone to stay a while, explore the Basque Block, and enjoy a meal or drink with old and new friends.
