All welcome to join the artist discussion on Thursday July 11 that will feature Megan Adams Irving ( Westford ) and Christina Hunt Wood (Delhi). Their remarkable work is on display in the current exhibition, big. small. fragile. strong. Associate curator at Fenimore Art Museum, James Matson, will serve as moderator. The gallery will open at 4:30 for preview of work. Also in the show: Tina Betz's lacey glass sculptures and Kate Dodd's mostly-suspended sculptures of thin strips of purposeful text. Megan is presenting fragile appearing work in clay and on paper-- exquisite in all mediums. She focuses on marking geological time in different ways. Don t miss her translucent watercolors: the white ghostly marks of absent hemlock branches! And her 'flower brick' vases: functional sculptures. Christina, ike Megan, presents several bodies of work: shimmering sturdy tapestries made of shredded 'road sodas' she finds discarded in beautiful places -- symbols of human microaggressions to the environment, now transformed. Her powerful small photographs zero in on single gold-plated crushed cans in clay, embedded in nature. She also presents a (gorgeous) infestation of embroidered spotted lanternfly patches. The exhibition is open Saturdays 11am-3pm and daily with a text or call (see above) through Saturday July 20.
