Join us every month for a free classic film! September's movie: All The President's Men -- to honor Robert Redford's death earlier this month. We're so excited to be partnering with The Garden Theater to showcase a classic film, All The President's Men (PG, 1976)!
We can't wait to see you on Tuesday, September 30, at 6pm--bring your friends!
--------------
We've been doing our Monthly Movie Club for more than a year now, and it's been so popular, that we've decided to add to what we're offering...
Yes, we will still be playing "nostalgic" movie throwbacks once a month--mostly movies from the 1980s, '90s, and early 2000s. Those events will still encourage you to dress up in a costume to match the movie's theme, and we will still have wonderful treats provided by Kilwins. And yes, even though those movies are free, we're going to be taking donations that fit a local cause on theme with that night's movie.
However, we are now going to be offering a more laid-back GARDEN CLASSIC MOVIE CLUB once a month, as well! (No dressing up necessary, no treats, no fundraising.)
These will be movies that are older--think 1930s through 1970s. So far, we have shown:
December 2024: It's A Wonderful Life - 85 people showed up
January 2025: Dr. Zhivago - 95 people
February 2025: The Third Man - 40 people
March 2025: The Sting -
April 2025: National Velvet - 65 people
May 2025: The Philadelphia Story - 65 people
June 2025: The Graduate - 80 people
July 2025: To K*ll A Mockingbird - 120 people
August 2025: North By Northwest - 180 people
Now on September 30 we're showing "All The President's Men"--please join us!

All the President's Men is a 1976 American biographical political thriller film about the Watergate scandal that brought down the presidency of Richard Nixon. Directed by Alan J. Pakula, with a screenplay by William Goldman, it is based on the 1974 non-fiction book by Carl Bernstein and Bob Woodward, the two journalists investigating the scandal for The Washington Post.
The film stars Robert Redford and Dustin Hoffman as Woodward and Bernstein, respectively. It was produced by Walter Coblenz for Redford's Wildwood Enterprises.
The film was nominated in multiple Oscar, Golden Globe and BAFTA categories; Jason Robards won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of Ben Bradlee.
In 2010, it was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant".
