Have you ever found yourself supporting a mate, customer, family member, colleague or even a stranger who is experiencing distress or a crisis, and you aren’t sure what to say?

The Accidental Counsellor teaches effective communication skills, how to ask directly about thoughts of suicide and respond safely, whatever the answer.

Feel confident to:

Recognise when a person is in crisis. Respond in an appropriate and compassionate manner. Refer the person to a suitable service.

Free course for anyone who lives, works or studies in the Mid-Western Regional Council area. Includes a self-care module to ensure your own wellbeing.

Morning tea and lunch provided. Participants must be aged 16+
