What’s being proposed for Frederick County? What’s fact versus fiction—and what does it actually mean for our community?Join us for an in-depth community discussion around data centers featuring a panel of experienced professionals who will provide insight into the key issues facing Frederick County.
Our panel includes industrial hygienists with decades of experience assessing the impacts of industry on human health and the environment. Their work informs employers, manufacturers, healthcare systems, and government agencies on occupational safety, regulatory compliance, and risk analysis. We will also hear from a geologist with extensive experience in subsurface systems, including karst geology, aquifers, and land use.
Panelists include:
• Tammy Clark: Industrial Hygienist and Occupational Environmental Health & Safety Professional with 20+ years of experience managing health, safety, and compliance programs across multiple industries, including work in regulatory and litigation settings.
• Kristen Meghan Kelly, MS-OSH: Senior Industrial Hygienist and Environmental Specialist with 20+ years of experience, consultant, and nationally recognized expert featured in media and documentary work.
• Martha Sadlick: Geologist (JMU) with 45+ years of experience as a senior geophysicist/geologist, including work with Shell, Total, and Conoco. Her career has focused on geologic and geophysical analysis for exploration and development projects across the North Sea, Philippines, Côte d’Ivoire, Gulf of America, and Pennsylvania. Raised on a family farm near Strasburg, VA, she brings deep knowledge of Shenandoah Valley geology and a strong understanding of subsurface systems, fluid flow, and environmental considerations.
• Elena Schlossberg-Kunkel: holds a BA in Psychology & MA in School Counseling from Marymount University. She established The Coalition to Protect Prince William County. While her educational background is in the social sciences, having moved to the Rural Crescent in Prince William County in 2002, she has seen the need for smart growth policy and conservation. She learned the important role land use decisions play in sustainability and quality of life for all residents.
• Nathan Russell, M.A.: Assistant Professor of Economics at Patrick Henry College with nearly two decades of experience teaching and applying economic principles. His work focuses on public choice, public finance, and the practical application of economic ideas, particularly as they relate to policy and real-world decision-making. Prior to his academic career, he worked with organizations including the Charles G. Koch Foundation, the Regulatory Economics Group, and the Mackinac Center for Public Policy, where his work included economic education methodology, corporate cost and profitability analysis, and assessment of state economic and educational policy.
The purpose of this event is to provide clear, informed perspectives on the issues being considered and what they could mean for our community.
A moderated Q&A session will follow, offering attendees—including community members and local officials—the opportunity to ask questions and engage directly with the panel.
All community members are encouraged to attend.
