About this Event
More than fifty years after the world first stepped into the Neighborhood, modern research affirms what Fred Rogers always knew: learning rooted in relationships, curiosity, and care helps every child thrive.
So what might it look like to bring a little more of the Neighborhood into our classrooms, libraries, early learning spaces—and even our homes? How can educators and caregivers use Mister Rogers’ blueprints to support young people in becoming the best versions of who they are?
On March 21, we’re going to find out.
Join us for frED Camp—a free professional development event for educators of all kinds—and learn alongside fellow educators who are putting Mister Rogers’ ideas into action. This year’s frED Camp will be hosted by the Fred Rogers Institute at Saint Vincent College, an organization dedicated to advancing Fred Rogers’ legacy by strengthening families and supporting the caring adults who nurture children’s healthy development.
Attendees will enjoy exclusive access to the Fred Rogers Archives, home to more than 22,000 artifacts from Fred Rogers’ personal and professional life. In addition to a self-guided archive experience, all participants will take part in an opening workshop led by Emma Lee, Director of the Fred Rogers Institute, as well as workshops by local organizations.
Other workshops presenters include:
- Trying Together
- WQED Kids
- Wilmington Area School District
