About this Event

Using his new film Frankenstein’s Dream as a starting point, Mansfield alumnus and BAFTA-winning filmmaker Simon Pummell explores how 19th-century visions of technology, from literature, outsider art, and forgotten inventions, illuminate contemporary fears about the merging of human identity and the technologies we create.

About the speaker:

After studying at Mansfield, Simon Pummell built a career across cinema and visual art, from directing videos for Queen to collaborating with Jonny Greenwood on the BAFTA-winning Bodysong. His film Shock Head Soul was nominated at the Venice Film Festival and praised for its originality and depth.
