About this Event
Learn more about the work in the exhibition, which demonstrates the development of the creative ideas of the artist Claire Frampton, taking pottery fragments as inspiration for textile design. A talk in the exhibition will be followed by a paper craft activity where participants will each create an A4 collage by drawing, tracing and cutting out fragment shapes and sticking these onto a background. Participants will work with a variety of papers, card and coloured pens. This paper craft activity is similar to the design work of Claire Frampton when she began working with fragment shapes as inspiration for textile designs. Participants are advised to bring a folder to take their work home. Participants are encouraged to post photographs of their work on social media and tag Abingdon Museum.
The artist will meet visitors at the museum reception desk, then walk up to the exhibition space and give a 1/2 hour talk about her exhibition 'Fragments to Fabric'. Then go down to the Kempster room and run a 1 hour craft workshop.
There will be two sessions: one at 10.30am and the second at 1pm.
This event is for adult participants (10 places per session).
