For almost 40 years, Rupert Murdoch & his rightwing propaganda network, Fox (NOT) News, have actively & intentionally misinformed the American people...brainwashing millions, and setting the stage for the GOP billionaire coup that's now in full swing. Fox has become TRUMP STATE TV – full stop.
Fox affiliates (independently owned stations broadcasting Fox shows) fund & help enable Fox's mission to spread WH sanctioned propaganda. But, a station manager or passerby may tell you the affiliate has nothing to do with Fox “News” and the newscasts from this station are independently produced- This is basically true...HOWEVER, the local station at which we are protesting (along with the other 200+ affiliates) combine to pay Fox and Rupert Murdoch BILLIONS of dollars a year in affiliate fees.
Please join us on Fridays from 10-11:30AM in Tampa to push back against the most destructive immigrant to ever hit our shore...Rupert Murdoch- and to tell FOX13 that We've got our EYES on the Lies, and we want Fox13 to STOP FUNDING FOX & Rupert Murdoch's propaganda campaigns!
Please bring noisemakers & signs with messaging pertaining to FOX...our theme is "We've got our EYES on FOX News' LIES", and we will have complimentary goofy google eye glasses (while supplies last). You can go to www.foxtakedown.com/signs for printable signs/flyers or messaging ideas! (Protest umbrellas are also a great alternative to signs, since they only take 1 hand to hold and also offer sun and rain protection)
If you're physically unable to stand/protest, but would like to support our efforts, we are also looking for volunteers to drive around the area with signs/decorated vehicles during the rally, to honk and be a "cheerleader", and/or take photos/video (if you have a passenger and can do so safely).
*PLEASE NOTE: This an Action Network Event. A core principle behind all of our events is a commitment to NONVIOLENT action. We expect ALL participants to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.*
**We will have bottled water available, and a dedicated group safety leader will be available to assist with de-escalation as needed, or to answer any questions.
***Tampa PD has been informed of the event, and "safety officers" are anticipated to be present.

-PARKING Info:
1. FREE parking: There is free Street parking on multiple side streets near and immediately around the FOX13 studio.
2. Free, but park at your own risk, parking: There is a vacant lot (belonging to an out of business restaurant) directly ACROSS from our main protest area at FOX13. The lot's address is 3140 W.Kennedy Blvd. I wouldn't expect any issues with us parking there since it's vacant, but please park at your own risk.
3. Free Parking w/purchase: There is a Krispy Kreme within a block of the protest area with limited parking, however it is for customers only. The staff has said that if you stop in for a donut or coffee before the protest, to please park on the drive thru side (not in front) and just display your purchase receipt in your window with the time you'll be returning to avoid towing.
4. Free, but park at your own risk, parking: Many of us have previously parked at Miguel's Mexican Seafood & Grill Restaurant, located approximately 2 blocks from FOX13, as we were attending lunch there afterwards, so we had their permission to park for the duration of the rally. This week, we are going for pizza at Santoro's instead, so if you would still like to park at Miguel's, please park in their back/overflow lot, and do so at YOUR OWN RISK. (We have never had any issues, but again, we were also frequenting their establishment afterwards)
-RESTROOM Info:
1. Public restroom: Sherwin Williams Paint store is less than a block away from the protest site & has a "public" restroom.
2. Restroom for Customers only: Krispy Kreme is 1.5 blocks away from the protest site and has a locked bathroom that they unlock/open for paid customers only. They have a variety of cold beverages and donuts available for purchase (and have a seating area with A/C for paid customers)
