In honor of the 250th anniversary of American Independence, the Museums of the Bethel Historical Society’s traditional Fourth of July Community Picnic and Concert will be expanded into a full day of festivities. We’ll kick things off at 10:00 a.m. with a parade up Main Street. This will be followed by a reading of the Declaration of Independence on the lawn of the Museums of the Bethel Historical Society’s Mason House (10 Broad Street, Bethel, ME), and the 33rd annual concert by the magnificent Portland Brass Quintet at 11:30 a.m. After the concert, we will have games and activities for both children and adults, refreshments available for purchase, and an informal music jam (open to all!), from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
Don't forget to stop by some of the other great events happening on the 4th, including the Shy, Novice, and Closeted Art Show at 18 High Street and the Art Market at the Philbrook Place sponsored by Bethel Area Arts and Music.
