Event 1: Natural Stone Series Over Bar
Event Description
Athletes will lift a series of natural stones and load each stone over a fixed-height bar. Stones will increase in weight throughout the series.
Rules
Athletes will begin behind the starting line with hands off the first stone. On the judge’s command, the athlete may begin lifting and loading the stones over the bar in order from lightest to heaviest. Each stone must be lifted from the ground and successfully passed over the bar - 48” men 36” women.
The athlete may use any legal method to lift and load the stone, including lapping the stone first.
A stone is considered good once it clearly passes over the bar and lands on the opposite side. Athletes may make multiple attempts on a stone within the time limit.
The score will be based on the number of stones successfully loaded. Ties will be broken by fastest time.
If no athlete completes the full series, placing will be determined by most stones loaded over the bar, then time to last successful stone.
No-Lift Causes
A stone does not fully clear the bar.
The athlete loads stones out of order.
The athlete begins before the judge’s command.
The athlete uses tacky, straps, or any banned equipment.
The athlete receives outside physical assistance.
Event 2: Hercules Hold
Event Description
Athletes will hold two implements, one in each hand, for maximum time. The goal is to maintain control of both handles for as long as possible.
Rules
Athletes will take position between the handles and grip both implements.
Once the athlete is set, the judge will give the start command.
Time begins when the implements are released into the athlete’s hands and the athlete is supporting the full weight.
The athlete must hold both handles without dropping, re-gripping, or resting the implements against the body.
The event ends when one or both handles are dropped, the athlete loses control, or the judge stops the attempt for safety.
Athletes may not hook the handles into clothing, belts, sleeves, or straps.
Chalk is allowed. Straps are not allowed.
Score is total time held.
Longest time wins.
No-Lift / Stop Causes
One or both handles are dropped.
The athlete re-grips after the time has started.
The implements are braced against the body.
The athlete steps out of position in a way that creates an unsafe hold.
The athlete uses straps or illegal equipment.
Event 3: Last Man Standing Log
Event Description
Athletes will clean and press a log overhead. The weight will increase throughout the event. Athletes may choose which weight they want to enter at, and they do not have to attempt every weight.
Rules:
Athletes may choose the weight they want to jump in at.
Athletes may pass on any weight before they enter the event.
Once an athlete attempts a weight, they are officially in the event.
Each athlete gets up to three successful attempts total during the event.
Athletes do not have to take all weights.
If an athlete successfully completes a lift, they may choose to move up to a heavier weight.
If an athlete misses a log at any point, they are out of the event.
The log must start from the ground.
The athlete must clean the log to the chest and press it overhead.
A successful lift requires the athlete to show control overhead with elbows locked, feet still, and the log stable.
The athlete must wait for the judge’s down command before lowering the log.
Any style of press is allowed unless otherwise stated, including strict press, push press, push jerk, or split jerk.
Highest successful weight wins.
Tie Breakers
If two or more athletes finish with the same successful weight, placing will be determined by:
Fewest attempts used to reach that weight.
If still tied, the athlete who made that weight first.
If still tied, placing may be shared or decided by the AD.
No-Lift Causes:
The athlete fails to lock out the elbows.
The log is not controlled overhead.
The athlete lowers the log before the judge’s down command.
The athlete drops or loses control of the log before receiving the down command.
The athlete misses the press or fails the clean.
The athlete receives outside assistance.
The athlete fails to complete the lift within the allowed time.

Please note: All classes are subject to change or consolidation at the discretion of the organizers if fewer than four athletes are registered in any given division.
No outside alcohol is permitted on site.
