Join us on September 7th for the FOURTH ANNUAL ATOMIC POOL CHAMPIONSHIP!$800 MINIMUM POT to be split between 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places!!!*
PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED.
Twenty players maximum. Priority pre-registration goes to those who took first or second place in an Atomic Sunday Night Singles or Doubles Tournament in the past year (October 2024-August 2025). If Atomic winners and first runners up don’t fill the 20 spots, spots open to those who played in an Atomic Tournament in the past year. After that, spots open to those who played in other Pool Players in the District Tournaments in the past year. There will be a wait list.
To pre-register, you must do one of the following by 5:00pm Eastern Time on Saturday, September 6, 2025.
1. Post on the discussion section of this Facebook event confirming that you will play.
2. Message K from Pool Players in the District or Anne Taylor confirming that you will play.
Check-in will start by 6:00pm.
ALL PLAYERS MUST BE PRESENT AND PAID FOR BY 6:50PM – NO EXCEPTIONS.
After 6:50pm, registration will open up to the wait list, with preference for those who have played in an Atomic Tournament in the past year.
FORMAT:
This is a single-elimination handicapped tournament. CSI rules (except no win on 9 ball on the break). Games will alternate formats between two games of 8 ball and two games of 9 ball. Lag winner chooses either to get the first break or to select the format of the first two games. Breaks will alternate between players.
ENTRY FEE: $30, cash only.
SKILL LEVEL INFO:
If the player has a FargoRate with 200+ robustness, that will be converted to a Pool Players in the District skill level (levels 3 through 9) using the following conversions:
Less than 350 = 3
350 to 399 = 4
400 to 449 = 5
450 to 499 = 6
500 to 549 = 7
550 to 599 = 8
600 to 649 = 9
650 or more = sorry – you do not qualify!
If the player does not have a robust FargoRate (200+ robustness), then the tournament directors will determine the skill level, erring on the high side. The tournament directors will base that skill level on relevant information, e.g., preliminary FargoRate, skill levels from leagues, the pre-existing knowledge of a disinterested party who the directors trust, observed play before the tournament, etc. If mid-tournament it becomes clear that a player should have a higher skill level, the tournament directors may increase the skill level between matches. Singles tournament results will be reported to FargoRate.
