📝 Event Description:
Join American Legion Post 9 for a solemn and inspiring Four Chaplains Memorial Service honoring the 83rd anniversary of the selfless sacrifice of four U.S. Army chaplains aboard the USAT Dorchester in 1943. United across faiths—Methodist, Jewish, Catholic, and Dutch Reformed—these chaplains gave their lives so others might live.
This service will include:
Posting of the Colors
Patriotic music and prayers
Candle lighting tributes for each chaplain
Reading of “The Saga of the Four Chaplains”
“Taps” and closing benediction
Free-will offering to support the Four Chaplains Interfaith Memorial Foundation
Seating is limited to the first 100 attendees. Please arrive early.
