Founder’s Ball | Stiftungsfest 2026

The German Society of Pennsylvania’s Stiftungsfest, or Founder’s Ball, is celebrated each November in honor of the Society’s founding in 1764. Over the centuries, the tradition has evolved into one of the Society’s signature cultural and fundraising events, bringing together members, supporters, civic leaders, and friends of the German-American community for an elegant evening celebrating transatlantic friendship and cultural exchange.
On Saturday, November 7, 2026, we are proud to celebrate the Society’s 262nd Annual Stiftungsfest and to honor Dr. Amy Gutmann, former President of the University of Pennsylvania and former United States Ambassador to Germany, as the recipient of the German Society of Pennsylvania Leadership Award.
The black-tie gala begins with a champagne reception in the historic Joseph P. Horner Memorial Library, followed by a formal dinner and award presentation in the beautifully restored Barthelmes Auditorium. Guests will also enjoy our annual Silent Auction, featuring exclusive experiences and curated items such as vacation stays, sporting event tickets, museum memberships, dining experiences, and more.
