This event features a listening session of the Cool It Down podcast episode on sustainable architecture, which includes a conversation with architects Marion Weiss and Michael Manfredi about the sustainable design elements of the new U.S. Embassy Compound. The podcast will be followed by an engaging conversation with Dr. Anshu Sharma, another speaker on the podcast and an expert in disaster resilience and climate action. The discussion will explore how innovative design and thoughtful construction can combat climate change, reduce climate risk, and prevent disaster loss—paving the way for a sustainable and resilient future. Dr. Sharma will transform the one-way podcast conversation into a two-way dialogue and explore how innovative architecture can address climate change, reduce risks, and foster resilience, while discussing U.S. leadership in innovative design practices.

Dr. Anshu Sharma is the co-founder and leader of STS Global, an organization that uses technology to help communities become more resilient to climate change. STS Global combines environmental technology with community-driven interventions to create scalable solutions.

• Please allow extra time for security measures if attending an American Center event.
• Mobile phones are allowed within the American Center, but photography of sensitive areas is prohibited.
• The American Center does not provide parking on its premises.
• Entry is allowed on a first-come, first-served basis.
• All visitors may be featured in photos or videos for promotional purposes or on social media by the American Center or the U.S. Embassy.
