Foundations of Yoga

This class is taught in a gentle and relaxed style, and will focus the foundational aspects of yoga. We will explore the connection body, mind and breath through mindful, intentional movement. We will break down fundamental yoga postures, sync movement with the breath and work on mindfulness and meditation techniques.

The class will start with some mindfulness practice, and breathwork to help you arrive in the room and become fully present. We will then work through some gentle movement to warm up the body before moving into our flow, potentially working towards a peak post. We will then end the class with relaxation through savasana

• Anyone looking to learn the basics of yoga and start their yoga journey
• Anyone looking to go back to basics, and take things slow
• Anyone looking to connect with themselves, through yoga
• Anyone looking to deepen their mind-body connection

Class Details:

• Open to all levels
• Mats and some yoga blocks available, but feel free to bring your own mat and any additional props you might nee
• Please arrive 5-10 minutes before the class start time.

Important Note:

This class is not recommended for those who are pregnant or recently postpartum unless you have experience with yoga and clearance from your doctor.

• Showers are not available
• On-street parking is available in the area and some surrounding streets are free on Saturdays around Alvanley Terrace at Bruntsfield Links & Colinton Road next to Napier University
