Take a blast to PA's past with this opportunity to find fossils at Swatara!Once a shallow ocean, Pennsylvania's geology offers really cool fossil finds of prehistoric marine animals. Find your own fossil, identify it, and learn about the evidence of changes in Pennsylvania's land.
Great for families and any curious mind, come get your hands dirty for an afternoon!
We will meet at the Swope's Valley Trail Head then take a short walk down the trail to the fossil site. We will wait 10 minutes after the start time for any latecomers before we walk down the trail, if you come later than the designated time you can still find the site via the trail map.
It is encouraged to bring bug spray, sunscreen, a water bottle, and a container to hold fossils in. All minors must be accompanied by an adult.
