What can fossils tell us about life long ago? Find out at Fossil Day at The Bishop Museum of Science and Nature on Saturday, October 17, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm!
Bring your curiosity for a day of fossil discoveries and hands-on activities. Explore displays from the Florida Paleontological Society, The Bishop’s Florida’s Fantastic Fossils, and participants sharing fossils from their Nebraska Badlands trip.
Pick up a Fossil Scavenger Hunt at the front desk, search through the Museum, and bring your completed hunt to the Florida’s Fantastic Fossils table for a prize. Visit the Willis-Smith Classroom to learn about White Sands National Park through information and interviews, then make your own fossil trackway!
Here’s what’s happening:
• 10:00 am–Noon: “What Is a Fossil?” Backyard Science.
• 10:00 am–2:00 pm: Fossil tables in Gallery 3, the Fossil Scavenger Hunt, and White Sands National Park activities in the Willis-Smith Classroom.
• 11:45 am–12:30 pm: Public Paleontology Highlight Tour. Meet in front of Priscilla.
• 2:00 pm: Stay for fossil-themed Tales Under the Tree.
