To open the 2026 fortyfivedownstairs Chamber Music Festival, pianists Coady Green, Ian Munro and Charlotte Roberts join forces with renowned actor Helen Morse for an evocative program inspired by the world of Shakespeare.
From the dark introspection of Hamlet to the enchanted dreamscape of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, this richly theatrical evening weaves together music and spoken word. Featuring works by Edward MacDowell, Sally Beamish, Franz Liszt and Felix Mendelssohn, including narrations by Helen Morse, this opening night promises a powerful and immersive beginning to the festival.
