THIS THURSDAY ONLY: 5PM (not 3pm)WoCo & ACAR present to you: Feminist, Anti-racist Liberation Library (FALL).
FALL is a fortnightly multi-modal co-learning space on the unceded lands of the Gadigal people.
We will cover topics like: gender, race, resistance, incarceration, liberation & justice.
Our first event will be a film screening of Concerning Violence by Göran Olsson, followed by digestible reading groups looking at texts by Angela Davis, Dr Islah Jad, Chelsea Watego and a writing workshop by the incredible Sara Saleh.
This week we will pre-listen to the podcast episode on Kalam podcast featuring an interview with Dr Islah Jad (linked below!) and an optional reading of the short essay "The NGO-isation of Arab Women's Movements" also by Dr Islah (also linked below). Topics will discuss Colonial Feminism, Western Hegemony in Arab Social Movements, The First Intifada, and more.
