Join the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation for a hands-on Volunteer Work Day at Fort Riley, focused on removing old homestead fencing to improve wildlife habitat and landscape safety.
Abandoned and deteriorating fence poses risks to wildlife movement and habitat health. This project will involve removing obsolete fencing so the land can better function as open, usable habitat for wildlife and future conservation efforts.
What Weโll Be Doing
Removing old homestead fence and wire
Assisting with habitat improvement and land stewardship
Working alongside the Fort Riley Environmental Division and fellow volunteers
This is meaningful, physical outdoor work with a clear conservation impact.
What to Bring:
Work gloves (required)
Sturdy boots or closed-toe shoes
Weather-appropriate clothing
Water and personal essentials
All project details, safety guidance, and coordination will be provided on-site.
Whether youโre a long-time RMEF supporter or new to conservation work, this is a great opportunity to give back, work outdoors, and make a measurable difference on the landscape.
