Join us for a very exciting iteration of our annual, day-long event on Fort Fisher during World War II, on October 4th, 2025!General admission is FREE, no tickets required for entry. Doors open at 9:00am and close at 5:00pm. Public programs will be held between 10:00am and 4:00pm.
View these programs below, many of which will be performed by costumed reenactors (participation by invitation only):
-WWII Vehicles Display and Convoy- Jeeps, weapons carriers, transports, and more! These will participate in a special morning convoy through Kure Beach!*
-New Book Premier- Visit the Gift Shop and get your hands on "Fort Fisher During WWII: Civil War Icon Revisited," a new, comprehensive book on Fort Fisher's role as a 1940s training base, written and presented by Cliff Tyndall and our own Collections Manager, Becky Sawyer!**
-Living History Displays- Explore wartime life for soldiers and civilians in a wide variety of camp setups, equipment demonstrations, and a full, working field kitchen!
-Educational Activities- Bring the family for educational fun in activities for people of all ages!
*Morning vehicle convoy will be held on the morning of October 4, times to be announced soon.
**Book presentation will be held at Fort Fisher SHS on Friday, October 3 @ 6:30pm, with book signing at 7:00pm. Open to all, no admission fee!
Please consider carpooling with friends and family wherever possible. Limited extra parking is available at Battle Acre Road.
The gate to the main parking lot is to be locked at 5:00pm.
