About this Event
🎭 Workshop: “Formats & Edits”
Taught by: Kaisa Kokko-Palmoer (she/her) – Finland
Level: All levels
Date & Time: Saturday, May 23 · 14:30–17:30
Location: Fringe Club, Central, Hong Kong
📝 Workshop Description:
Strong edits make strong shows. In this fast-paced, practical workshop, you’ll explore the art and precision of editing — one of the most vital tools in longform improvisation.
From clean cuts to bold theatrical transitions, you’ll train your instincts to recognize the when and how of moving from one scene to the next. Expect to try a wide range of edits: simple, complex, playful, cinematic, and musical.
We’ll also experiment with how edits shape rhythm, emotion, and storytelling in different show formats — giving you the confidence to step in, shift energy, and heighten the overall arc of an improvised performance.
Get ready for an energetic “edit gym” — because when transitions flow, the show glows.
🧘 How to Show Up
- Arrive early – please plan to arrive 10 minutes before class so we can start and end on time.
- Wear comfortable, movement-friendly clothes that cover you fully (you’ll be moving around the space).
