This art class invites teens to explore shape, volume, and expressive drawing techniques inspired by the quiet poetry of Giorgio Morandi and the elegance of Japanese monochrome art.
Through a series of guided exercises, students will learn how simplicity, repetition, and thoughtful use of space can create powerful visual impact.
What We Will Explore
- Pencil Drawing
Learn how to build form and volume using line, hatching, and tonal construction, focusing on structure, proportion, and depth. - Still Life in the Spirit of Giorgio Morandi
Create a calm, minimalist still life using repeated forms, soft tones, and balanced composition, inspired by Morandi’s meditative approach to everyday objects.
Skills Developed
- Understanding of form and three-dimensional volume
- Graphic expressiveness and line quality
- Observation, patience, and visual sensitivity
- Confidence in working with different drawing materials
This class is ideal for teens who want to deepen their drawing skills, explore fine art traditions, and develop a thoughtful, expressive approach to visual art.
