Darkness descends on the embattled survivors, both on the planet on which they stand, and within their hearts. Too confident, arrogant, and headstrong were they in chasing down the traitorous forces of the Warmaster. Too enraged and blinded by revenge were they that they over extended, pushed too far, and now, cut off and surrounded. The howls and cries of their pursuers, getting ever closer.The forces of the Emperor and the loyal Adeptus Mechanicus, had chased down the lone World Eaters ship to this unknown planet. Seeing the damaged vessel deploying all hands to the surface, the loyalists charged all ahead full in order to destroy the fleeing traitors before they could reach the surface. Little did they know, the World Eaters Captain was a master of void war. Laying in wait, cold in the void, a small strike force of Caestus Assault Rams and Kyribdus Claws, patient for the moment to strike.
The traitors struck when the launch bays opened on the Bastion of Glory, taking the loyalists by surprise and ultimately driving them from their ship.
Taking the bridge, the traitors sent mocking radio messages to the loyal forces down on the planet.
“Yap, Yap, loyal dogs of the false Emperor. It is clear your bark is worse than your bite. We have your ship, we will call it the Corio. You are trespassing on our new world, Frankston! We will find you, little dogs. Pray that our bolts find you first!”
On the surface the loyalists were no longer fighting a war, they weren’t even fighting battles. Scattered, leaderless, divided, without support or reinforcement, they were fighting hundreds of last stands. Each warrior now set on survival, their only focus, the next cut, the next shot. No thought of how they would survive. Only that they must!
Sending the inevitable victory, the forces of the Warmaster increase their attacks, slaughtering any loyalists where they could be found. Within the forests, in the trenches, in ruins, it mattered not, while brothers might fall to the loyalist’s defence. The dogs would die in the end, by bolter or blade, it mattered not.
Deep in the bowels of the Corio, a small knot of resistance formed. Surviving only to fight on better terms, in order to secure one small victory. They have no chance of taking the ship back from the traitors, but they can get a message out, and destroy the ship.

This is Chapter 3 of the Crilius Secundus Event series, progressing from the results of the previous events.
This is a mixed ZM and AoD one day event with two different ZM arenas being fought over this time.
