Forging America | A revolutionary look at Appalachian life in celebration of America 250.Brooms presented by Rebecca Smedley
Broom making can be found throughout history, especially in Appalachia. In this artist talk/demo, Rebecca Smedley will demo whisk brooms of various shapes while discussing the art medium from the ground up. Come learn about the planting process of broomcorn, harvesting methods, and the drying time it takes to make them! Smedley works full time at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts as the Director of Local and Regional Programs.
