Forest to Fork Cooking Class & Dinner: Mushroom Edition
In this hands-on class, Maria will teach us how to identify and harvest oyster mushrooms—a native Southeast delicacy found right here in our own hardwood habitats. Afterward, we’ll gather for a plant-forward feast celebrating the flavors of the forest, with vegan options for every single course! 🍄
🍽️ Menu:
• Lion's Mane "Crab" Cakes – golden, pan-seared patties showcasing the remarkable seafood-like texture of local lion's mane mushrooms, seasoned with classic coastal herbs
• Oyster Mushroom Alfredo – sautéed local mushrooms in a traditional creamy alfredo sauce over pasta (a vegan cashew-cream alfredo will also be available)
• Greek Salad – crisp romaine, cucumbers, and peppers with house-made dressing
• Roasted Cauliflower – oven-roasted with simple, savory seasoning
• Grilled Peaches – caramelized peaches with candied pecans and whipped coconut cream 🍑
